Blog Post: Everyday You Think: Should Wishes Come True?

In life, there’s a moment where you feel stagnant. You hate to admit it but there are times you find yourself not knowing of your next move.

Which can create fear, insecurities and overall doubt within yourself. Or is it time for you to take a breath and enjoy where you are now?

As a child, you wished nothing more but to be older. Whether it was because you wanted to do something and couldn’t. Or it was simply wished for after being told what to do constantly.

Now there’s nothing more you would want then to be a little kid again. Free of worries that come with the soughted out, adulthood.

As you go through the challenges of adulthood, you hit more walls than you’ve ever imagined. Feeling stuck as if you’re in a box with no way out.

No one told you what you would encounter in life. About the days where your best doesn’t feel like enough. Not to mention, those days you’re exhausted and rather stay in bed.

And that’s when you realize that you got what you wished for, right? You reminisce on those moments when you said, “I wish I were older.”

When you were 7 and wanted more candy.

When you were 10 and wanted to stay up late.

Let’s not forget, when you were a teen and wanted to go somewhere and was told no.

But there’s no going back. Suddenly, you can eat all the candy you want. Staying up until 2am binge-watching your favorite tv show. And going out anywhere you want without having to ask anyone.

Now you’re in your twenties wondering, “this couldn’t be what I wished for.” But it was, you wanted to be able to do what you wanted without having to answer to your parents, grandparents, and any other adult in your life.

Wishing to be older had nothing to do with all the responsibilities that you have as an adult. More so, being able to voice your emotions and thoughts without being called disrespectful. And that may have been the first time you hit wall.

As an adult, you find yourself expressing how you feel more and more each day. You realize instead of wishing you were older, you wanted to be heard.

Although, there are times now when you still aren’t heard. When plans just aren’t going how you wanted them to go. That’s when you hit another wall.

It’s as if that is the most important lesson. You hit a wall, find a way to go around it.

You would think the adults in your life would’ve told you what life is really about. Honestly, if it wasn’t so challenging it would be amazing.

As you go on about your day, you wonder how can one wish come with so much responsibility? How can one wish turn into all of this? Remember, you can wish again but be ready for it to be granted and all that comes with it.

So, should wishes come true?
